Organizing Attributes
I never really thought about the attributes that could be used for classifying library materials ( date acquired, fixed-order, genre and form, size, alphabetical order, main entries, subject arrangement and relative location).

Obviously from an Elementary Library point of view genre and form, alphabetical order, and subject arrangement are mostly used.

One of the most important concepts presented in this chapter is how it is to meet and serve the needs of the people who use it and in my case it would be the students from k-7 and staff.

I do like that the DDC uses mnemonics and that it has a relative index. That helps, although I am still not adept at all the subdivisions.
